As Americans, we take pride in the fact that Freedom is a guiding concept for our society, one that has provided a home to more people from more places, living in greater harmony and prosperity than the world has ever known. Although we may not always live up to the ideal as much as we'd like to, the principles against which we measure ourselves and our actions are worthy of respect and honor.

Therefore, we seek Justice, both for our own people and those of the world we share with everyone else. Justice demands that those responsible for the death and destruction of the past week be held accountable for their actions, and prevented from spreading their works of terror any further (in time or space). We will settle for nothing less than Freedom, nothing less than Justice. This means going beyond simple blood-lust, retribution and hatred, if we are to preserve the essence that commands our loyalty as a society
