Applications of Computer Technology
for Students with Learning Disabilities

In this hands-on workshop, educators will learn how computer technology can assist students with diverse learning styles, including learning disabilities/differences. Topics include:

  • Adaptive Technologies (simple to sophisticated)
  • Using the Computer to Facilitate Writing Skills
  • MultiSensory Learning
  • Places teachers can learn about learning disabilities/differences
  • Transition Planning for the LD High School Student.

Ferdi Serim, computer coordinator for the Princeton Regional Schools, is author of NetLearning: Why Teachers Use the Internet; Joey Serim, program associate of the Newgrange Outreach Center, has more than 20 years experience working with exceptional children, including applying technology in the diverse classroom.

Participants need only basic familiarity with computers (such as using a mouse, saving on a disk, etc) and should bring a blank disk to the workshop to bring home resources from the session.
